"I'm not sure whether this question has been posted before but here's the scenario. As usual I sync whatever movies, photos, podcast to my Apple TV. - HE-AAC (V1), AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), protected AAC (from iTunes Store), MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound pass-through.
So, you should convert your raw MOV video to M4V, MP4 or MOV formats with H.264 or MPEG-4 codes, then Apple TV can recognized it.
